Former US President Donald Trump is seeing his crypto portfolio soar dramatically, surpassing $33 million thanks to a surprise airdrop of the popular TROG meme token.
Trump’s portfolio gets a huge boost from TROG
According to data from the Arkham analytics platform, Trump cryptocurrency wallet literally doubled in value to exceed $33 million after receiving half of the total supply of the TROG memecoin.
This now represents the main crypto asset of the former president with over 210 billion TROG coins valued at nearly $20 million.
MAGA Coin, however, remains its second-largest crypto asset, approaching $8 million. His high-profile NFT collection also earned him $3.2 million in Ether (ETH) and Wrapped ETH (WETH).
Trump’s increasingly strong support for the crypto ecosystem!
This sudden influx of digital wealth is just the latest addition to Donald Trump’s growing ties to the crypto world. A few weeks earlier, his campaign had confirmed its intention to accept Bitcoin donationsEthereum and other cryptos via Coinbase, showing support for the industry.
His portfolio had already swelled recently following a wave of donations from supporters during his recent legal conviction, seen as a way of expressing their support.
In addition, Trump organized an event dedicated to his NFT collection “Assets” in its Mar-a-Lago complex, demonstrating its growing interest in this asset class.
With a now substantial crypto portfolio and displayed support, Donald Trump appears poised to become a key player in the crypto ecosystem if it wins the presidency in 2024, influencing future regulatory directions.
