Former US President Donald Trump invited supporters who purchased at least 47 Trump NFTs (at $99 each) for dinner at their home in Mar-a-Lago. The invitation comes as Trump takes a day off from the trial, US media outlet Axios reported.

According to the report, Trump did not have any campaign activities scheduled for Wednesday after the court case went into recess on Wednesday. The suit is part of an ongoing case brought to Trump amid accusations that he conspired to overturn the 2020 election results in that state.

Launched in December last year, the Trump Mugshot NFT Collection offered those who 47 Mugshot digital trading cards a piece of the suit Trump wore in his photo when he was arrested in August and had dinner with the former POTUS at Mar-a-Lago.

Collectors who spent nearly $10,000 to purchase 100 NFTs were invited to a “VIP” pre-dinner cocktail party.

This dinner invitation demonstrates how brands, celebrities, and political figures can use real-world rewards to bring utility to NFTs.

Although the industry experienced a significant drop during crypto winter, NFT transaction activity has recovered recently, driven by Bitcoin Runes (Ordinals) through leading NFT marketplace Magic Eden.

The Mugshot NFT collection is Trump’s third in a growing list of Trump trading cards. NFTs range from the photo itself to an illustration of Trump on a cowboy, among other variations. Last year, the former POTUS reported earning $100,000 and $1 million from his NFT projects, according to financial disclosures.
