Solana Dev who was burned in Meme Coin Stunt is alive and wants another challenge
The Solana meme piece creator who suffered third degree burns on a large part of his body this week went to Twitter to confirm that he is alive and looking to return to the project in a week.
Mikol, as he is known, got burned performing live-streamed stunts in an attempt to drive up the price of his token.
“We are alive, we have not abandoned you,” the developer said from his intensive care bed, visibly burned after being bombarded with fireworks. “I’ll probably be here for three more days, but right after that you’ll see me in Miami. You will see me again right away and better, more motivated and hungrier than ever.
Mikol confirmed in a voice note sent to Decrypt that he suffered second and third degree burns over a large part of his body, with his left hand and shoulders being the most affected.
Since his hospitalization, Mikol said he has been given oxycodone, morphine, codeine and fentanyl to help manage the pain. He has to constantly stretch to keep his skin from scarring too much and soon begins physical therapy. He said Decrypt that this is the least he has suffered since the incident.
“This hospital bill is going to make the mess explode,” he said in a voice note. “They’re trying to keep me here for a week and a half.”
In the early hours of Wednesday, Mikol doused himself with isopropyl alcohol and livestreamed fireworks being fired at him in an attempt to pump his blood. Truth or Dare (DARE) token. This led to the meme piece’s creator being rushed to hospital with third-degree burns, after catching fire without proper fire safety precautions.
Mikol’s fiery blow is the latest in a series meme coin creator series who turn to live-streamed antics to attract potential investors. Part “Jackass” shenanigans and part performance art, these streams saw users perform sexually suggestive acts with a family member, for example, or pretend to have no hands before “brutalizing” the community by selling tokens.
Some Telegram users speculated that the developer had died, but his loved ones quickly confirmed that he was in stable condition and recovering at a Miami trauma center. The next day, silence reigned in his camp. Two days later, Mikol released a video to his community and communicated with his Telegram moderators.
“This is what I always wanted to do. You see me doing it with passion every day,” Mikol said, his voice hoarse. “I can’t let down my community, my family.”
TruthOrDare had been running for six days before the incident. Mikol had completed challenges that his community set for him, including drinking water for a bong or setting his pants on fire.
The token had been in decline for a peak reached a few days ago, so he planned to do something crazy to drive up the price – and obviously, things went too far. Compared to this previous high, the coin is now up 55%, but at the cost of a rising hospital bill.
“We told you guys [the DARE community] I worked effortlessly,” Mikol said. “I couldn’t be happier with the people I’m doing this with.”
Since this incident, key members of the community have come together to support the development of DARE. People who made a profit or just felt bad donated money to Mikol’s portfolio; at the time of writing, 12 SOL (approximately $2,000) have been transferred since the incident. On top of that, an avid DARE investor known as DLuxx said he visited Mikol in the hospital to physically give him money and send him well wishes.
“I went to the hospital last night to bring her some money, because Solana doesn’t help you when you’re in the hospital.” DLuxx said Decrypt“It was late to visit us and there were a lot of families struggling with the situation, so we respected their privacy. Mikol asked me to come back and my plan is to visit him later this afternoon.
Now the community is trying to advance the TruthOrDare vision by spreading itself. DLuxx was the first to broadcast live. During the Telegram livestream, he I met a homeless man named Dillon, who did a few tricks on his skateboard while DLuxx begged him not to get hurt. Now the community claims it is working to send Dillon money and find him a place to live.
In a message sent to DecryptMikol said he plans to livestream a series of challenges in New York once he recovers.
