Solana Dev hospitalized with third-degree burns while trying to pump Meme Coin

THE live coins the meta has taken an alarming turn.

Six days after the creation of the Truth or Dare token (DARE) activated Pompe.fun, a Solana developer doused himself with isopropyl alcohol and was shot by fireworks. He is currently being treated at a Miami trauma center for third-degree burns over a large portion of his body.

Live streaming for coin influence is a recent and often troubling trend. It was weird when a mom shook her tits for her son’s pledge or one the developer lost a tooth during boxing. But the third-degree burns are on another level of weirdness — perhaps a sign that the degeneration on Pump.fun should pump the brakes.

Mikol, the developer of DARE, quickly caught fire after being hit by a few fireworks. His friends, who were streaming it live on Twitter, ran towards him to try to put out the flames. Unfortunately, they were not prepared with a fire extinguisher or fire blanket, only a few gallons of water.

After 15 seconds of panic, Mikol’s burns were revealed. “He’s all burned, bro,” one of his friends said during the livestream as Mikol struggled on the ground and water was poured on him. It didn’t take long for them to run out of water.

“Stop recording and start helping,” another friend told the person behind the camera.

Those who were present at the event, including his brother, told Decrypt that they wanted to wait until Mikol woke up before making a comment.

The last half of the 30 minutes direct is difficult to watch. Mikol screams in pain, claims he can’t feel his hands and tells the others he needs to go to the hospital.

“It’s burning brother, my body is burning,” the developer shouted. His friends shouted to the driver to take them to the hospital. Mikol continues to scream in pain. As the camera pans towards him, he is seen trying to keep his skin from touching the surfaces of the car.

Hours later, Michael Valentine, a viewer who told Decrypt he had more than five years of firefighting experience and was speaking to Mikol during the incident, came to Telegram to try to explain his injuries. Due to the symptoms described by Mikol as well as the look and feel of the injuries according to those who were with him, Valentine says he’s sure the streamer suffered third-degree burns. He estimates 35% of his body was burned but admits it could be more.

“We never received a full report from his friend, who is currently in the hospital with him,” Valentine told Decrypt.

Soon, a live stream from the hospital appeared with footage of Mikol covered in bandages. Community reaction was mixed.

“Is he dead yet,” said one Telegram user. Others expressed concern that the token was collapsing. One investor found this sickening and took to Twitter to express his disgust: “Fuck these people and I’m done being emotionally attached to anything crypto related. »

Mikol had gathered a small but passionate community of investors who tuned in every day to see him live-stream challenges submitted in the Telegram group. Previously, he had hired a recording studio to create a song, drank water from the bong and set his pants on fire. But this time, it obviously went too far.

“The plan was he wanted to encourage other people around the world to dare crypto,” DARE investor ““DLuxx” said Decrypt. “The community bought him equipment to broadcast; they are collecting money to buy him a car,” he explained. “They want to help him find an apartment.”

Now Telegram chat has a dark vibe. Most of the bad actors are gone as a strange message is dropped into the chat wishing Mikol a speedy recovery. Every once in a while, an investor gets banned because they only care about the well-being of the coin over that of the developer.

“Maybe in a month, a year or a day, some of you won’t know or care about Mikol anymore,” the developer’s brother said on Telegram. “But there was no line of respect for me when Mikol is my life and for all of you it’s a week-long show.”
