Memecoins
Pepe price today, PEPE to USD live price, market analysis and chart
PEPE is a deflationary memecoin launched on Ethereum. The cryptocurrency was created as a tribute to the internet meme Pepe the Frog, created by Matt Furie, which gained popularity in the early 2000s.
The project aims to capitalize on the popularity of meme pieces, like Shiba Inu And Dogecoin, and is striving to establish itself as one of the leading meme-based cryptocurrencies. PEPE appeals to the cryptocurrency community by instituting a no-tax policy and being upfront about its lack of utility, keeping things pure and simple like a memecoin.
Between the end of April and May 2023, the explosive rise of PEPE caused its market capitalization to reach a peak of $1.6 billion at one point, making its first holders millionaires and attracting a strong community of followers sharing same ideas. This sparked what some might call “memecoin season,” causing other memecoins – some launched within hours – to spectacular pumps and equally stunning dumps. It remains to be seen whether PEPE and other memecoins will reach new highs, although that is certainly the hope of many believers who are awaiting the next BTC halving cycle and praying for a Bull Run.
The PEPE roadmap consists of three phases, with phase one including listing on CoinMarketCap and getting $PEPE trends on Twitter, while phase two includes listing on centralized exchanges (CEX) and phase three includes listings of “level 1” exchanges and what the team calls a “meme takeover.”
