Like Coinbase Ethereum layer 2 scaling network Base continues to gain strength, NFT Market Open sea is preparing to highlight the network and its artists with the launch of “Get Based” – a series of free or low-cost digital art releases.
Starting Thursday with a reinterpretation of the classic art from the film “Endless Summer” (seen in full below) by Carty Sewill—an artist and fellow OpenSea employee—the “Get Based” series is set to encompass works by up to 15 artists over the summer.
Weekly drops will occur via the OpenSea website and through frames on the social media protocol Farcasterwith each open edition release costing $5 or less – and some will be free.
Other artists/projects confirmed for “Get Based” include the creator of RGB Punks Jhekubcreator of “Primitivos” Hunmeme artist Cryptic Poetcreator of Twitter’s “Fail Whale” Yi Yi Luillustrator SubwayIt is Thank you Base God– who recently did a free NFT mint on OpenSea that yielded over 181,000 mints in total.

Base has become a significant part of OpenSea’s focus in recent months as the market embraces the emerging NFT landscape on a network that does not yet have consolidated, high-value collections – unlike layer-1 chains like the Ethereum mainnet. or Solana.
“Get Based” was intended as an introduction to emerging artists on Ethereum L2, while also helping to introduce collectors to the network. OpenSea offers native asset bridging to Base, as well as the ability to purchase with fiat currency and credit cards through a MoonPay integration.

The “Get Based” series will take place alongside Base’s next promotion “On-Chain Summer II”, which starts on June 3rd and will offer over 600 ETH (almost $2.3 million) in prizes, incentives, and gas credits across various projects and protocols. OpenSea participated in last year’s promotion and was also a launch partner for the Base.
