Lycoris Recoil wins NFT project from A-1 Pictures
A-1 Pictures has announced that it is launching an NFT project for its original anime series project Lycoris Recoil. According to the studio, the NFTs will be comprised of materials that are intermediate production media. A portion of the proceeds will go to the production team.
The Lycoris Recoil NFTs will be sold in an auction-style fashion, starting at ¥2,500 per item. Bidding will begin on July 24 and end on August 4. The pieces are now available on a special page on SNFT website. Some of the items auctioned as NFTs include rough sketches, animation director corrections, background art, aesthetic visuals, and even raw video clips before they are finally exported into a scene.

It is worth noting that this initiative follows a recent anime project based on Chiru Labs’ NFT project Azukiinvolving Japanese advertising giant Dentsu. The same advertising agency is part of the production committee for the Lycoris Recoil series, although it is unclear whether the two are related.
The original Lycoris Recoil anime series aired from July to September 2022 with 12 episodes. Shingo Adachi, known for his work on Sword Art Online, directed the anime and did the series composition. He also wrote the scripts for episodes 1-2 and storyboarded a total of four episodes. Imigimuru did the character designs. The anime has a new project in progress and was also voted as Best Anime in Anime Corner’s Summer 2022 polls.

Behind these peaceful days lies a secret. A secret organization that prevents crimes: “DA – Direct Attack”. And its group of female agents: “Lycoris”. This peaceful everyday life is all thanks to these young women. The elite Chisato Nishikigi is the strongest Lycoris agent of all time. Next to her is Takina Inoue, the talented but mysterious Lycoris. They work together at one of their branches – Café LycoReco. Here, the orders that this café receives range from coffee and pastries to childcare, shopping, teaching Japanese to foreign students, etc. These are mostly tasks that are unsuitable for Lycoris. The optimistic and free-spirited pacifist, Chisato. And the cold and efficient Takina. The chaotic everyday life of this mismatched duo begins!
