Jason Derulo Wants Crypto ‘Cleanup Crew’ To Stop People FUDing His Meme Coin
This weekend, singer-songwriter Jason Derulo clashed online with some cryptocurrency advocates, claiming that his cryptocurrency token is a scam.
“$JASON to a billy”, Derulo tweeted Saturday night, predicting that the value of the celebrity-inspired Solana-based meme coin would skyrocket. Despite rallying by multiples in its opening week, the token has since absorbed 80% from the peak on June 27, with a further 21% recorded on Monday.
JASON was not originally launched from Derulo, but he was deployed on Pump.funa Solana-based marketplace that claims to prevent rugpulls by “ensuring all tokens created are secure,” with “no presales and no team allocation.”
This hasn’t stopped the JASON token from crashing recently, nor has it silenced critics in Derulo’s responses, who accuse him of a classic crypto scam.
Instead of assuaging their concerns, the superstar claimed that critics are “spewing nonsense,” spreading fear, uncertainty and doubt (FUD), and preventing “normal people” from joining the space.
This space needs a cleanup crew,” he said. he wrote Sunday. “My game plan is to get on board and build the brand, your game plan is to jerk off in your room and FUD.”
Derulo initially claimed to be deceived in the promotion of the meme currency from Sahil Arorawho is the alleged mastermind behind a series of celebrity coin pump and dump memes in recent weeks. However, Derulo was quickly inspired to “take this all the way,” claiming to buy $20,000 worth of coins “for the long haul” and claiming to create utility around the token.
“I’m not here to take liquidity out of the market, I’m here to create liquidity and put it into the market,” he said.
The conversation quickly turned to the celebrity’s net worth, and whether this was all just a pump and dump for a singer looking for more money. This is where things got spicy.
“You’re literally a scrub!” Derulo said crypto influencer Crypto Bitlord, who claimed to own “forgotten altcoin dust” that surpassed the singer’s net worth. “If you met me, I would either slap you or ask for a picture.”
Bitlord then accused Derulo accused of promoting an “off-the-record security” that he was caught spreading to his followers.
I’m tearing off keeps that Crypto Twitter “hates” his attempt to bring liquidity to the market.
“The work never stops, if only people knew what we cook behind the scenes,” he said. tweeted on Monday.
