‘Hamster Kombat’ Premarket Trading Expands as Viral Game’s Token Launch on Telegram Nears
Another cryptocurrency exchange has started offering pre-market trading for Hamster Fightthe HMSTR token on Monday, giving traders an additional way to participate in the Telegram gaming phenomenon as the token’s launch approaches.
Bybit is the latest exchange to join the fray, allowing in-game points trading ahead of the on-chain token launch. At the time of writing, HMSTR is trading at around $0.12 in USDT Stablecoin ON Bybit Pre-Market Platform.
Hamster Kombat developers have yet to announce the conversation rate at which they will award players on-chain tokens in exchange for in-game coins earned. For example, the game Telegram Not money—Telegram’s original “tap-to-earn” gaming phenomenon—gifted players 1 NOT token for every 1,000 in-game coins they earned earlier this year.
This uncertainty makes pre-market trading even more risky, as there is no guarantee that Hamster Kombat will distribute tokens at a 1:1 ratio. Bybit’s listing announcement informs users that the exchange “will help you convert your point orders into regular token orders once the project team announces the official conversion rate.”
However, this uncertainty has not prevented trade from aligning offer pre-market trading on Hamster Kombat. Bybit joins a list of exchanges that includes Gate.io, Bitget, and KuCoin in offering this option, all three of which began doing so in June.
Hamster Kombat has quickly become a gaming phenomenon in recent weeks, attracting a supposedly 238 million usersaccording to Telegram CEO Pavel Durov late last week. The simple cryptocurrency exchange simulation, which runs in a “mini app” within the Telegram messaging platform, expands on Notcoin’s tap-to-earn premise with a variety of new features.
