Doja Cat’s Twitter account hacked to sell Solana meme currency
American rapper and singer Doja Cat has joined the growing number of celebrities whose Twitter account (aka X) has been hacked to promote a meme based on Solana. She quickly told her 24 million Instagram followers that she was not responsible for the posts.
The Doja Cat account began tweeting crypto content at 7:15 p.m. ET Monday, with the first post linking to a holding address with a message imploring users to “buy $DOJA or else.”
The hacker posted more than two dozen messages and deleted Doja Cat’s profile picture and description from her account, which has some 5.6 million followers.

Twitter users were quick to point out that these tweets were the result of a hacked account.
The hacker posted information about other celebrities, including Iggy Azalea, who apparently adopted crypto and frequently tweets about his $MOTHER meme and Crypto Twitter.
In response to Doja Cat’s hack, Azalea tweeted, “Be bold if you want to, but I’m cool with this girl in real life, so you hackers fucked up this tweet.”
According to blockchain records And market dataThe new $DOJA token, hosted on Solana market maker Raydium, appears to have seen relatively muted activity compared to previous incidents, with fewer than 15,000 transactions generating approximately $2.2 million in volume.
This is the latest in a series of incidents involving hacked social media accounts belonging to celebrities, typically with tens of millions of followers, and involving Solana-based coins.
Last month, former wrestling star Hulk Hogan’s Twitter account was compromised to promote a similar scam. This was followed by the account belonging to the rapper 50 cents to compromise and Metallica a week later.
