Crypto sleuth exposes Shkreli as creator of DJT token
On-chain detective ZachXBT received $150,000 from Arkham Intelligence for unmasking former pharmaceutical executive Martin Shkreli as the creator of the DJT token.
The discovery follows intense speculation and a surge in the value of the token, which was said to be linked to former President Donald Trump.
This revelation raises potential legal concerns for Shkreli, who is currently on parole following a securities fraud conviction.
The DJT token has seen a 300% increase in value due to unsubstantiated claims of its connection to Trump, prompting Arkham Intelligence to offer a bounty for identifying its creator.
Arkham Intelligence said ZachXBT provided conclusive evidence, including a direct message from Shkreli acknowledging his role in creating the token along with an individual referred to as “Barron,” which led to speculation that Trump’s son Barron Trump was involved. although there is no concrete evidence. was presented to support this claim.
Shkreli, known for his decision to increase the price of a key drug by an exorbitant 5,000%, has actively promoted the narrative that the DJT token is Trump’s official campaign token.
His actions included a $100 million bet with cryptocurrency trader GCR on the token’s legitimacy, which was later withdrawn.
The drama escalated when Shkreli led a Twitter space, claiming to be behind DJT and suggesting that Barron Trump controlled the private keys to the token’s smart contract address.
These claims by Shkreli have yet to be verified by Barron Trump or his representatives, and the Trump campaign has not commented on the matter.
