According to a Binance blog post, Cristiano Ronaldo commented:
“My journey in football has made me travel the world and I have had the honor of playing for some of the most prestigious clubs in the market. Now it’s your turn to join me on this journey too.”
The number of NFTs contained in the new collection will not be announced until the series launches and so far there has been no mention of price. However, the post stated that the price will be the same for each “regular NFT”, while the price of the “ultimate Super Rare NFT” in the collection will be different.
Previous NFT events featuring Cristiano Ronaldo have brought benefits outside of the digital world, including a premium experience where holders were invited to play football with the legend himself as part of the Binance promotion.
As reported by Cointelegraph in November 2023, the football superstar was sued in a class action lawsuit in a US district court in Florida for his past participation in NFT collection sales with Binance.
The plaintiffs in the lawsuit alleged that Ronaldo “promoted, assisted and/or actively participated in the offer and sale of unregistered securities in coordination with Binance” and that he should have known that Binance was engaged in such activities.
