Citadel Studios revives Legends Of Aria on Steam with monthly subscriptions, but no NFTs
Legends of Aria is coming back to life for the third time without the blockchain and NFT shenanigans associated with its second re-release. Its original developer, Citadel Studios, is reviving the sandbox MMORPG as Classic Aria Legends and just launched a surprise open beta test earlier today.
“This event will not only give you an early look at the classic world of Aria, but will also serve as a critical stress test for our new server hardware profile,” the studio announced. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for you to delve back into the realms you missed and experience classic adventure and mayhem again.”
The weekend test will run until 9pm PST on May 7th and all progress will be wiped in preparation for the game’s relaunch on May 9th. The latest iteration will feature the same set of pre-early access rules used in 2019 and will require a $9.99 monthly subscription. to play with a free month for players to get started.
To participate in the open beta test, simply download and play on Steam just like you would with any other free game on the platform. Third time’s the charm? We’ll see.
