Bitcoin Climbs Above $57,000 as Popular Cryptocurrency Explodes 40%: Weekend Watch
Over the past 24 hours, the cryptocurrency market continued its recovery, regaining $2.213 trillion in total capitalization.
This comes on the heels of Bitcoin surging above $57,000 and other altcoins seeing some pretty notable gains.
Bitcoin price regains $57,000
Like CryptoPotato reported Yesterday, the price of BTC gained 4% in one day and climbed above $56,000 after a bloodbath that sent it falling below $54,000.
Today, the cryptocurrency continues its recovery, successfully surpassing $57,000 and gaining another 1% in the last 24 hours.
It’s worth noting, however, that Bitcoin is down 6.5% over the past seven days and the market is nowhere near where it was a week ago. Buyers have a lot of work ahead of them if they want to stage any sort of meaningful comeback.
Altcoins See Green
The rest of the cryptocurrency market is also in the green, with almost all altcoins posting gains.
For example, Polkadot (DOT) gained 6.4% over the past 24 hours, followed by NEAR (up 4.5%) and AVAX (up 3.6%).
The biggest gainer, however, is the TON-based meme crypto launched earlier this year – Notcoin (NOT). It has increased by 42% in the last 24 hours, outpacing all other cryptos in the top 100 in terms of total market capitalization. The meme crypto has been able to erase all losses from the recent bloodbath and is even registering a 5% increase in the last 7 days.
That said, there are other popular cryptocurrencies that have failed to capitalize on the recent market rally. Dogwifhat (WIF) is one of them. The dog-themed cryptocurrency is down a whopping 7.2% in the last 24 hours, making it one of the worst performers in the top 100.
Overall, the market seems to be on the road to recovery, but sentiment remains uncertain. It will be interesting to see how the next few days play out.
