Memecoins
50 Cent was hacked by someone selling memecoins and it seemed to work
50 Cent was hacked by people looking for a memecoin, and the scheme apparently worked.
50 Cent said Saturday that his X/Twitter account and website, ThisIs50, were hacked and that the hacker was promoting a cryptocurrency called $GUNIT, you know, like G-Unit, the old band of the rapper.
According to 50 Cent himself, the hack was quite successful.
He written on Instagram: “My Twitter and Thisis 50.com were hacked. I have no connection to this crypto. Twitter worked quickly to lock my account. Whoever did this made $3,000,000 in 30 minutes.”
Crushable speed of light
There is no way to verify the numbers provided by 50 Cent. Cryptocurrencies offer fraudsters the opportunity to increase their value and make money quickly.
After all, this is not an uncommon scam. A hacker takes over an important account and increases the value of certain cryptocurrencies via posts. It seemed it happens to Hulk Hogan this month. It’s all the more confusing since some celebrities, like rapper Iggy Azalea or Caitlyn Jenner, have actually released volatile coins.
50 Cent has been active in crypto in the past, would have owned millions of dollars worth of Bitcoin, so that would mean people would fall in love with memecoin.
Be careful on the Internet and don’t buy all cryptocurrencies at random.
